Volunteers are needed to continue to run the Hartford Sideliners Soccer Club efficiently and effectively. We cannot be successful without parent participation and involvement. Hartford Sideliners Soccer Club is a not for profit organization that relies on volunteers, to meet its commitment to providing a superior experience for the area's youth. Below is a list of our volunteer areas we offer to get involved. If you wish to volunteer for any of the following, please go into your account, click on volunteer, find volunteer roles, and then find the role your most interested in. You can also select a role in the process of registering for the new year.
Please remember, as of the 2018/19 season, all families are required to volunteer for a task in both our fall and spring seasons. Volunteer tasks will be assigned by teams, these task will assigned around your teams game schedule. Parents will need to coordinate and take turns doing the tasks so every family does something each season. This configuration ensures every family has an opportunity to volunteer each season. Below is a list of volunteer roles and what they entail. We greatly appreciate your participation to help run, and grow our club. We understand that life happens, and cancellations may be needed. It would be appreciated if you could check to see if another parent on your child's team could take your spot first before canceling. If another parent cannot take your spot, and the cancellation happens within 24 hours of your assigned time slot. Please notify Becky Weed, our Volunteer Coordinator, by text message at (262)623-2154 with your name and reason for canceling. This will allow us time to try to find someone else to fill your spot. When there are open slots available throughout the season, the club will send out Publicity emails asking for help to fill them. Emails will also be sent when NEW volunteer opportunities are added to the site.
Season Field Prep -
This is a twice a year only role (1 Fall, 1 Spring). We will measure all fields to be painted for the first games of the season. Goals will also be moved into different spots if needed for the year. This same process is done before the beginning of the spring season. The more volunteers we have, the faster it goes.
Field Painters -
Field painting is a weekly volunteer role. We touch up the paint on each field every week through the fall and spring seasons. During the fall this is an 8 week event, with 7 during spring. This is an important job to keep our fields playable, visible, and nice looking.
Nets Volunteer -
Our Nets Volunteer role is very simple weekly role, you'll either put nets/goals up, or take them down, and occasionally it may be both. U6 would be only on Fridays, and U7 - U14 would be typically be only Saturdays. For U6 - U8 it is a Net/Goal combo, and they're easy to put up and take down. U9 and up only involves attaching the netting to the back of the goal frame. Though this is very easy role, some height to reach certain parts of the frame will be a little harder. For U7-U14, flags will also need to be put on all four corners of the field, they also each have their own designated bin for those items.
Our Concession Stand is our league's sole source of fundraising and the profits have helped us keep our registration fees to a minimum. Fundraiser Volunteer - Helping hand out the fundraiser orders at our concession stand.
Flower Bed Volunteer -
This role will be to take care of the flower beds around our home fields at Independence Park. Pull weeds, add mulch, etc.
Boys Varsity Game Organizers -
Organizing the halftime scrimmages during the Boys Varsity home games. Setting up goals, splitting kids into 2 teams, handing out pinnies and starting & stopping the scrimmage. Picking 2-4 players before varsity game to be sideline ball retrievers. This event covers all 7 home games. Plus, you get FREE admission to the games.
Head Coach -
The head coach is the representative of each team. They will be in direct contact with the our club's Team & Coaches Coordinator, Director of Coaches, our Club, and their players/parents. Head Coaches are responsible for picking a team name, practice days/times, running practice, etc. Coaches will provide an environment that encourages fun, fitness, fair play, and good sportsmanship while increasing players' excitement in the game. You will have to pass our screening process, and attend coaches clinics to do this role.
Assistant Coach -
The Assistant coach is also a representative of each team. Their main job is to assist the Head Coach with any of the teams needs.
Your first point of contact will be the Head Coach and then Team Director of your team. or, Director of Coaches, our Club, and their players/parents. Head Coaches are responsible for picking a team name, practice
days/times, running practice, etc. Coaches will provide an environment that encourages fun, fitness, fair play, and good sportsmanship while
increasing players' excitement in the game. You will have to pass our screening process, and attend coaches clinics to do this role.
Your company's name and logo on a team jersey, your company's name, logo & link to website from league webiste, and team plaque with picture at the end fo the season. We will do our best to accommodate your request to sponsor a specific team.
No experience necessary. Provide an environment that encourages good sportsmanship and increases players' excitement in the game. Submit Soccer Screening Application.
Paid for games refereed, minimum age 12, no experience necessary. Required to attend the Referee clinic.

Be a decison maker and help to make this soccer league even better! Board members are always welcomed at any time before, during or after the season. Having the title of a Board Member is a great resume builder and can lead to a positive point of discussion during a job interview.
