Important Information 5-28-19

Hello Sideliner Families,
          Sorry for the very long news story  – many topics to discuss and many dates to remind everyone of. I went with one long news story versus numerous short stories by topic. 

Coach’s Equipment return:
Sunday, June 2nd from 1:00 - 3:00pm at the equipment shed for U7- U14 and U6 returns theirs on Friday, May 31st after their last game.We are requiring all coaches to return their bags at the end of the season. Our goals to replace and restock equipment & bags over the summer with new and additional equipment. During the return, coaches will have the opportunity to request any additional equipment they feel should be included in the equipment bags. If the board agrees that your suggestions would benefit the team – they will be added for the 2019/2020 season. Please also return any keys you have for the equipment shed / net box.If you are unable to return your equipment during this time frame, please let me know before 3:00pm on Friday so we can arrange a different time.

Tournament  Tent / Game  Etiquette:
I don’t believe that we have had any problems from our club with sportsmanship/conduct, but sending out a reminder just in case. Team Directors – I am asking you to keep an eye on your parents /players during the tournament. Please make sure parents sit on the spectator side of the field (2 rows of people if needed) and that no one is sitting on the player side or along the goal lines. Please step up and say something to anyone that may get out of hand from the sidelines. “ See something,say something”. Please keep in mind many of the refs will be youth players refereeing in between their own games. Please be sure everyone is courteous and respectful.We will again have a HSSC tent setup for Hartford teams to stop by and grab a freeze pop. There will also be summer soccer camp flyers available there for anyone interested in attending camps this summer.

Summer Soccer Camps:
There are a few summer soccer camps available in the area this year. The Hartford Camps are listed on our website (under “teams” tab). There is the Chicago Fire Camp,HUHS Soccer Camp, and the Power Behind The Bird Soccer Camp. All are right herein Hartford!


Registration for the 2019 / 2020 season:
The Early Bird Registration period is closing soon! Be sure to register before June 4th  to get a $25 early bird discount!! Registration from June 4th thru July 7th will cost $150 each U7- U14 player and $125 for all U6 players. Anyone who registers after July 7th will be placed on a wait list and will pay a $25 late fee if a spot opens up for them.


Volunteering:
When registering your child, please be sure you are selecting a volunteer role you are willing to do for an entire season (both in Fall & in Spring). All families are required to volunteer in some type of role. There are volunteer roles that can accommodate your various schedules and time availability.  Just a reminder that our club is run entirely by volunteers and we cannot be successful without you.

Uniform Fitting Meeting: 
NEXT MONDAY, JUNE 3RD!!!!New for the 2019 / 2020 season - each U7- U14 player will be purchasing a uniform set to keep. Each uniform set will include a HSSC jersey, shorts, and a pair of socks. Each set will cost $40. We have set aside a time for players to try on the uniforms before ordering them. The “uniform fitting” will be held on Monday, June 3rd from 6:00-7:30 at the HUHS cafeteria. At this fitting each player will try on, order, and pay for their uniforms. Depending on how busy it is when you arrive, you could be there for 10 minutes or you could be there longer. Every U7- U14 player is required to purchase a uniform set.Payment can be made to Soccer World for these sets with cash, check, or credit card.I have attached the original email with all the details. Please make every attempt to attend this night and place your orders. For those that absolutely cannot attend, we are working on a solution for that. As soon as we have one, we will share it. Players registering for U6 DO NOT need to attend or order a uniform set!Players may keep their current uniforms. If players have no use for their uniforms, they can be turned in on Sunday, June 2nd at the equipment shed from 1:00 - 3:00pm.

4th of July parade:
HSSC will once again be participating in Hartford’s 4th of July parade. All players are welcome!We do ask that parents accompany their younger children. And if you wish to hand out candy,please bring along a bag or 2 to hand out. Players are asked to wear their orange practice shirts or current jerseys. Watch for an email from Publicity as the date gets closer with more details and what spot we are assigned to.

SAVE THE DATE: 
August 12th 6:30-7:30 at HUHS - 2019/2020 Season’s Parent Meeting.Please plan ahead, this meeting is for parents only. At this meeting we are hoping to distribute the new uniforms & practice shirts, go over the Dick’s Team manager App, finalize team volunteer roles, and answer any questions you may have.

Board members will be at the June uniform fitting & the August parent meeting to answer any questions you may have.
